Paul Thompson has been delivering solutions to the maritime market for more than 25 years. He joined Trident Maritime Systems in 2014 and leads the company’s global interests in the distributed systems, electromechanical, cryogenic insulation, and power, propulsion and controls areas.

Paul thrives on the challenges associated with Trident’s global operations. His strategic approach helps Trident consistently exceed customer expectations, and his creative thinking drives innovation in supporting customer requirements.

Throughout his career, Paul’s technical focus has been the development of integrated power systems for commercial and government applications. Prior to joining Trident, Paul served as an executive in General Electric’s Marine Systems and Government Services divisions, delivering integrated power and propulsion solutions on MLP/ESB, LHD-8, LHA-6 & 7, DDG-1000 and Canada’s AOPS program. He also participated in the T-AKE and USCGC Healy platforms.

Paul is a life member of the Navy League of the United States and a member of the American Society of Naval Engineers. He earned a bachelor’s degree with honors in electrical and electronic engineering, and a master’s degree in engineering from the University of Manchester, United Kingdom. Paul became a U.S. citizen in 2008.
