TRIDENT MARITIME SYSTEMS EARNS

SAFETY RECOGNITION FOR SHIPBUILDING / REPAIR

SIGNAL MUTUAL DEEMS MARINE OUTFITTER INDUSTRY SAFETY LEADER

PASCAGOULA, MS & SAN DIEGO, CA — MARCH 7, 2017 — Trident Maritime Systems, America’s largest and oldest provider of turnkey marine outfitting solutions, has been recognized with the 2016 Industry Leader Safety Award in the shipbuilding/repair category by Signal Mutual, the largest self-insured provider of longshore workers’ compensation benefits in the United States.

The safety award is based on six criteria, including no fatalities in the last three membership years, and declining frequency of claims, with the last two full years at or below the average rate for the entire mutual. In addition, at least one executive team member from the winning organization must have attended one of Signal’s Executive Safety Leadership courses.

According to Gunther Hoock, vice president of safety resources for Signal Administration, Inc., earning the award is a remarkable accomplishment for the recipient. “The safety award is only bestowed when all of our strict criteria for safety are met,” Hoock explained. “Safety excellence doesn’t happen by accident. It takes enormous commitment and awareness from all employees, backed by executive involvement and support. We are extremely impressed with Trident’s dedication to operational safety in shipbuilding and repair, and by the organization’s outstanding safety record.”

Trident has been a member of Signal Mutual for many years. “We are extremely proud of our crews and their safety practices and are excited to earn this award from Signal,” said Tim Steele, Trident’s director of safety and quality. “Safety is our number one priority at Trident. We know it takes enormous effort and attention on the part of our crews to maintain an award-winning safety record. The entire Trident family is proud of this award.”

Two award presentations are scheduled for later this spring at Trident locations in Pascagoula, Mississippi and San Diego, California.

TRIDENT MARITIME SYSTEMS NAMED

MANUFACTURING BUSINESS OF THE YEAR

MARINE OUTFITTER HONORED BY SAN DIEGO EAST COUNTY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

SAN DIEGO, CA — MARCH 1, 2017 — Trident Maritime Systems, America’s largest and oldest provider of turnkey marine outfitting solutions, has been named the 2016 Manufacturing Industry Business of the Year by the San Diego East County Chamber of Commerce. Trident’s Naval Repair Division, an active and longstanding member of the San Diego East County Chamber of Commerce, was recognized for its work with El Cajon Valley High School (ECVHS) and its Metal Masters Pathway program.

The ECVHS Metal Masters program gives students the opportunity to explore possible careers in manufacturing and welding. The program serves approximately 180 students per year, and ECVHS is the only public education program in San Diego county that provides American Welding Society Certification. Over the past 30 years, the program has credentialed thousands of certified welders.

To provide better opportunities for students in the two-year program, Trident designed a customized education program focused on the marine sector, including expanded hands-on training, increased post-secondary credentials for students, an advisory board and Linked Learning, integrating industry standards and work-based learning into the curriculum.

Trident provided more than 450 hours of staff commitment from six employees, mentoring, internships, onsite tours, hands-on projects, materials and job offers directly after graduation. Over the past two years, 19 students took and passed certifications for the specialized marine welding sector. All 19 accepted job offers from Trident.

“I felt comfortable my first day on the job,” said one Metal Masters Pathway graduate. “On the class tour, I already saw the shop in production, toured some ships and met some of the workers. At 18 years old, I have a career with salary and benefits.”

“We are proud to support ECHVS in this important program,” said Marcel Becker, general manager of Trident’s Naval Repair Division and a former chair of the San Diego East County Chamber of Commerce board. “Youth-based unemployment is a growing epidemic in our country. As engaged corporate citizens, we are delighted to mentor and cultivate the next generation of Team Trident. Getting a job means these students have a promising future, which affects them, their families and our entire San Diego community.”

President and CEO of the San Diego East County Chamber of Commerce Eric Lund explained that the award honored the business with the best record of customer service, ethics, community involvement and Chamber participation and support in the manufacturing industry sector. “This award was voted on by more than 200 of our members,” Lund said. “Through Trident’s involvement with ECVHS, Trident has contributed to workforce development, improved grades and attendance, and income mobility. We are pleased to honor Trident for its vital work with ECVHS.”

Trident’s efforts were also recognized in a nomination for an award from the US Chamber of Commerce.

THOMPSON NAMED TRIDENT MANAGING DIRECTOR

February 4, 2016  I am pleased to announce that on January 1, 2016 Paul Thompson accepted the position of Managing Director of Trident Maritime Systems, Power, Control and Propulsion Sector which includes all activities within the RAACI division. Paul will report to Joe Mullen in his role as the Chief Operating Officer of Trident. As many of you know, Paul accepted a position as Vice President of Distributed Systems at the IMECO Division in 2014. He joined us from GE Power Conversion’s North America Marine Organization.

During his time at GE he had growing responsibilities in technical, sales and business leadership areas. Upon his departure he was their leading executive in the North America region. He successfully grew the business to be the market leader in Integrated Power Systems in the government sector and navigated that company through several transitions of ownership. His accomplishments include the Power, Controls and Propulsion solutions on USCGC Healy, T-AKE, MLP, LHD-8, LHA-6 & 7, DDG-1000 and Canada’s AOPS program. Over his short time with our company, Paul has been a lead for the Distributed Systems and then Power Systems Product Group at IMECO and has been working to grow our Trident portfolio of business on future platforms such at T-AO(x) and OPC.

Paul is tasked with growing the Power, Controls and Propulsion footprint in a coordinated fashion with all the divisions of Trident. 2016 will be a challenging year for our business. We can only achieve the objectives of our business as one team. I will hold Paul accountable for the operations of our Power, Controls and Propulsion Business.

Please join me in congratulating Paul on his new role.

MULLEN NAMED TRIDENT COO

JANUARY 26, 2016 I am pleased to announce that effective immediately Joe Mullen has accepted the position of Chief Operating Officer for Trident Maritime Systems. Joe will continue to execute his responsibilities as President of the Trident USJ Division in addition to his role as COO. Joe will continue to report directly to me.

As many of you know, Joe accepted a position as Vice President of Business Development at US Joiner LLC in 2007, following 20 years as the President of a successful privately held land based construction and manufacturing company roughly the size of US Joiner. Over his time with our companies, Joe has assumed increasing levels of responsibility. He became Executive Vice President of US Joiner prior to the acquisition of the company by JF Lehman in 2011. He became President of US Joiner a year later. When we reorganized the business into Trident Maritime Systems, Joe was named President of the

USJ Division.

During his tenure with the company, revenues and profits in his portion of the business continued to grow substantially. This growth is notable given the challenging business environment we faced over that time. In addition, Joe led the efforts to diversify the USJ division into the oil and gas market, the cruise market—both new construction and revitalization—and the US Navy maintenance, repair and overhaul sector. The USJ Division expansion included the penetration of additional markets in the United States and internationally. Over this period, the USJ Division acquired and integrated three companies and started the Baltec Marine business.

Joe will be tasked with accelerating the integration of the divisions into Trident Maritime Systems. We must move quickly to harness the tremendous value that Trident Maritime Systems can offer our customers and this realignment will help ensure that our customers see us as one company.

2016 will be a challenging year for our business. We can only achieve the objectives of our business as one team. I will hold Joe accountable for oversight of all daily operations of Trident, cultivation of additional teamwork, and achievement of Trident targets. The leaders of the other divisions will now report to Joe.  In his role, he will work closely with the other divisions to ensure that each division accomplishes its financial and operational objectives.

Please join me in congratulating Joe on his new role.

Chief Executive Officer, Trident Maritime Systems

COMPLEX VIKING STAR

INSTALLATION WORK LAUDED BY

CRUISE LINE, ARCHITECT AND DESIGN FIRM

Viking Ocean Cruise’s debut ocean vessel — Viking Star — was christened in May of 2015. Trident’s cruise division played a significant role in the outfitting of this elegant ship, having built and finished its stunning infinity pool and nearby Jacuzzi, along with the fixed furniture, pool bar and pool grill. Trident also played an integral role in the construction of the exquisite Wintergarden, its beautiful fixed and decorative furniture, tea and coffee bar and bookcases. In addition, Trident built the Viking Star putting green, shuffleboard, bocce court, and sports deck bar and lounge, along with accompanying furniture.

Thoughtfully conceived by world-renowned nautical architects and designers, Viking Star is designed to deliver a unique onboard experience, set in tasteful, understated elegance. Viking Cruises Chairman Torstein Hagen, speaking of the Wintergarden’s intricate architectural dressing, said, “Such a complex structure on this scale was a real labor of love for the outfitter [Trident’s cruise division] to install.”
